Maison Umami
Book here"Maison" means house in French, "Umami" means harmony in Japanese. The restaurant, designed by Marisa Gallo, blends high ceilings, large windows, natural greenery, and velvet fabrics into an aesthetic that mixes French colonial style with Asian influences without a single false note. Leading the kitchen is chef Jinzhong Zhao, Chinese-born with a long career in the industry. The menu brings together Chinese cuisine, Japanese sushi, Thai specialties, and a few fusion creations made in-house. Peking duck, chicken and seafood kubak, dim sum, and the tuna crunch roll are among the dishes that keep showing up at the tables. High-end Asian cooking at a moderate average price explains why it has become one of the neighborhood's most well-regarded openings since arriving in 2022.
