Galería María Porto & David Bardía
More informationMaría Porto grew up moving between law school lecture halls and the galleries of the Reina Sofía, where she'd go to sit with the Guernica while studying. David Bardía, meanwhile, was coming up through the world of collecting and antiques. Two different paths that converged in a single project: a gallery where contemporary art can be discovered up close, accessible and free of artificial distance. Every exhibition is conceived as an invitation to pause, look, and take in a selection that reflects both the work defining the present and the talent shaping the future of collecting. Beyond their programming, both believe in art as a driver of connection: they back initiatives with institutions, companies, and cultural projects that share their vision, bringing together artists, collectors, and an ever-widening public. Visiting either of their spaces means encountering something alive, put together with rigor and sensitivity.
Two locations, one philosophy. The Espacio Villanueva, on Calle Villanueva 40 in the Salamanca neighborhood, and the first floor of El Corte Inglés de Castellana, on Calle Raimundo Fernández Villaverde 65, run an ongoing program where great masters of contemporary art engage in dialogue with emerging and established names from the Spanish and international scene. In 2026, that dialogue has included exhibitions by Okuda San Miguel, Belin, and José Palacios, alongside collaborations with ARCO, ESTAMPA, Belmond, Regent Cruises, and Royal Mansour Marrakech. For visitors to Madrid looking to get closer to the art market, this is one of the city's most active entry points.
